Design

Dry Dock Design and Engineering Services

Triton Dry Dock engineers offer ongoing engineering support for all certified dry dock facilities. Our services encompass repairs, modifications, and upgrades. Support services include dry dock repair, overhaul specification design packages, and special inspections during repair and overhaul. We provide engineered designs for dry dock support structures including but not limited to access ramps, ship services, keel blocks, side blocks, and side block towers.

Triton Dry Dock engineers are available to provide your shipyard with continuous engineering support for Department of Defense (DoD) drydocking bids, Pre-Award and Award calculation and drawing requirements, and commercial drydocking calculation and drawing requirements. This includes the US Navy (USN/NAVSEA), US Coast Guard (USCG), Military Sealift Command (MSC), Army Corp of Engineers (ACOE) surface vessels, commercial vessels including tugs, yachts, oil rigs, and cruise ships.

Triton Dry Dock also provides dry dock engineering support services, including vessel and dry dock loading and stability, dry dock blocking plans, alternate dry dock blocking plans, floating dry dock pumping plans, and dry dock calculation submittal packages for DoD and commercial vessels.

Certify

Inspection and Certification of Dry Docks

Triton Dry Dock engineers are Registered Professional Engineers in multiple US coastal states. Our engineers and surveyors have working knowledge and experience inspecting and certifying floating dry docks and graving docks in accordance with MIL-STD-1625, Safety Certification Program for Drydocking Facilities and Shipbuilding Ways for US Navy Ships, ASCE/COPRI Standard 77-22, Dry Dock Standard, and USCG STD SPEC 8634, Drydocking. 

Commercial Inspections and Certifications - All commercial inspections and certifications are done in accordance with ASCE/COPRI Standard 77-22 and/or USCG STD SPEC 8634. 

Triton Dry Dock engineers are available to assist your land rail transfer facility with Line and Grade Surveys, including shore surveys, dock surveys, and alignment. (Marine Railways are not covered).

Commercial Marine Surveyor services for floating dry docks are available for insurers and the insured.

Maintain

Maintenance of NAVSEA MIL-STD-1625 Dry Dock Facilities

All dry dock facilities certified under MIL-STD-1625, Safety Certification Program for Drydocking Facilities and Shipbuilding Ways for US Navy Ships, have multiple mandatory maintenance and inspection reporting requirements.

Triton Dry Dock engineers meet the requirements of MIL-STD-1625 to provide third-party professional engineering services and surveys for MIL-STD-1625 certified shipyard facilities including steel floating dry docks, land-transfer facilities, and graving docks.

Our capabilities include independent third-party management and the performance of maintenance and inspection cycles, including operational, structural, mechanical, and electrical surveys, development and maintenance of inspection checklists, and independent audits of the maintenance program.

Maintenance of Commercial Dry Dock Facilities - Triton Dry Dock engineers and consultants are available to assist commercial shipyards in developing and implementing an ASCE/COPRI 77-22 compliant operations and maintenance plan and providing third-party auditing of operations and maintenance.

Special Services

Triton Dry Dock engineers are prepared to provide rapid dry dock incident response to support domestic US maritime facilities and US Naval interests domestically and globally. This technical support service is dedicated to providing the US Navy or other DoD agency, local Port Authority, salvor, owner, and/or shipyard with a dry dock specialist experienced in dry dock design and engineering, dry dock repairs, salvage support, special inspections, and forensic analysis to assist with the response or salvage. It does not cover the performance of salvage or repair.

Triton Dry Dock engineers and surveyors are available to provide independent third-party special inspections and surveys for dry dock construction, overhaul, and damage.

Triton Dry Dock consultants are available to provide experiential insight regarding the purchase, design, certification, and maintenance of drydock facilities, including graving docks, transfer systems, and steel floating dry docks.

Triton Dry Dock consultants are available to prospective Buyers to provide independent third-party engineering analysis and review of existing dry dock structures before purchasing.

Triton Dry Dock consultants provide independent third-party audits of naval and commercial dry dock operations and maintenance plans.
